Troubleshooting Bulldozer Problems With Our Anaheim Shop
December 1, 2021
Bulldozers
are a staple of any construction site. Unfortunately, they can
sometimes develop mechanical problems. Below are some of the most
commonly seen bulldozer problems and solutions. Contact Orange
County Fleet Services
in Anaheim, CA if you need onsite bulldozer or construction equipment
repair. Issues
With Tracks
Occasionally,
when the engine gets too hot, one side of the tracks will stop
working. There may be an issue with the steering clutch in this case.
The opposite side's steering clutch should release when you turn
right or left. A worn clutch will need to be replaced to fix the
problem. Bulldozer
Cannot Move Forward or Backward
If
your bulldozer only moves backward and forward for a short time, or
not at all, check the oil first. Metallic debris or metal in the
hydraulic filter could indicate a problem with the hydraulic system,
the pump, or the drive motor. This requires disassembling and
servicing the hydrostatic drive pump. Electrical
Issues and Repairs in Anaheim
Electricity
problems can eat up valuable work time. Whenever you have a problem
starting your bulldozer, check the drain valve in the bottom of the
tank for water. Check the fuel filter next; it may need cleaning or
replacing. The fuel lines and tank can get clogged with sediment and
dirty water after being used all day; clean it out every day to
prevent future problems. If you’re still not having any luck,
